it was one of those weekends with 18 different things going on, most at the same time (nap time!). even as the weekend progressed more invitations came in for spur of the moment festivities. in the end, we had a very full weekend yet tried to keep it balanced so that it was still fun and no one felt rushed.jasper decided to start things out with some excitement. saturday morning at breakfast he stuck a blueberry right up his nose! i had just recently thrown out our *baby booger sucker outer thingy* (affectionately named so by sienna when she was 4) because the kids had gotten a hold of it and chewed it up. dad walked with the kids to our nearby friends house to borrow theirs. (thanks nif!)
though jasper was quick to let you know he had a blueberry lodged in his nostril, he was handling it well and enjoyed the journey. upon their return we were able to extract the berry, though he did NOT enjoy that process at all! crisis averted.
*disclaimer* i do not necessarily recommend using a bulb syringe to remove items from your child's nose. it helped that the blueberry had been previously frozen and thawed and was quite squishy. it was a very delicate process and really we got quite lucky that we were able to suck it out of there!

we then enjoyed our local health food stores *green halloween hullaboo*. here is a sneak peek of our costumes. sienna as a flower fairy and her friend the pink poodle:

we ended the day at the nature center where jasper's dragon was voted *most scary*! (mom is a fall tree.)
while there we also enjoyed a lovely marionette show where both of the kids participated. dad and i were all grins watching our two littles captivated by the puppets. they both had so much fun! unfortunately, the pics turned out poorly....well enough to spark our memories but not good enough to share here.sunday sienna and i had a date to the fiber fair. heaven for both of us. we only saw one other child the whole time we were there. some of the artists and vendors were NOT child friendly, but we came across a weaver and a spinner that were delighted to talk with her at length about their work and show her how they make their magic happen. sienna brought her own money with and picked out presents for daddy, brother, and kitty back at home. she was absolutely thrilled when she came across this llama for herself! it's blue, her all time fave!!

later in the afternoon, dad took the kids to the pumpkin patch where they picked out our carving pumpkin. whew! most of us enjoyed some down time after that, but dad had to run off to his soccer game.

ewwwwwwww! Curly Girl put a teensy rock in her EAR once and that was a trial getting out, HA!
